Ingredients: 1 packet of Kadayif dough (shredded Filo), 500 grams sugar, 250 grams butter, 250 ml milk, 150 grams ground walnuts, 1 litre water, 5-6 drops lemon juice.

Method: Melt the butter in a round baking pan of approximately 30 cm diameter on a very low flame. Remove the pan from heat. Add the Kadayif dough to the butter, pour in the milk and mix everything thoroughly. Set aside half of this mixture. Layer the baking pan with the remaining half and press it till flat. Sprinkle the ground walnuts on this. Arrange the remaining dough mixture on top and once again press till flat. Bake for approximately 45 minutes in the oven at 170 degrees Centigrade. For the syrup, mix 1 litre water with 500 grams sugar and bring to a boil, add the lemon juice and let it simmer for 45 minutes on a low flame. Let it stand for an hour. Pour 3/4 of the lukewarm sugar syrup on the cold Kadayif (sweet Filo pastry)
